A still-unidentified NYC School Safety Agent on his way to work at Herbert H. Lehman High School was struck by a vehicle, who pulled over to stop– when two other vehicles passed over the man’s body, either unaware or unsympathetic to the carnage they left behind in Westchester Square.
Officials and witnesses at the scene reported that the 59 year-old male School Safety Agent was crossing Little League Place at East Tremont Avenue at 5:55 a.m. on Tuesday, January 24, when he was struck by the first vehicle, who stopped and pulled over.
Witnesses reported hearing two additional thuds, before finding the victim on the ground and seriously injured.
One witness reported, “I went over and he was on the ground twitching,” adding that the man appeared to be in his 40’s.
The victim remains at Jacobi Hospital, reportedly in critical condition.
One police source at the scene stated, “We had heard about the two additional vehicles, but the tape were looking at is too dark to really see.”

Sixto Aquino Garcia, who works near the scene of the crash, explained, “There’s always a lot of close calls here, even me. I came out of Dunkin’ Donuts and stepped in the street once and a car almost hit me.”
Garcia believes a stop sign or a flashing yellow light at the busy intersection could only help.
Police say no charges have been filed against the unidentified driver who stopped and remained at the scene, and continue to investigate the crash as well as search for the two drivers who allegedly fled the scene.
